I didn't manage to get my late carrots out of the ground before the frosts came. Will they be ok. I seem to remember when I was young my mother would often complain about buying carrots that had been frosted but we always seemed to eat them so maybe they'll just be split?

Frosted carrots tend to go a bit 'mushy' where the frost has touched them. Cheers, Tony.
Update on this query. I lifted some of the carrots today and apart from some minor slug damage were fine and tasted good. Interestingly they were quite pale which I put down to the lack of sunlight.
Frost damaged my remaining beetroot though (compost bin) and the bottoms of my swedes although the upper 2/3 could still be used.
