Hi,
Can anyone recommend a goods website to buy potatoes off? The one I normally buy from has run out of Roosters! All the other website seem much more expensive.
Or a place in South East Kent where I can go and buy them.
Thanks in anvance.
brothershamass - This does not directly answer your question, but be assured most online & catalogue suppliers are rather OOT with their prices.
Wilkinsons sell most varieties for £2.98 per 3k (7lb) bag and the quality is first class. I will admit that some of the live gardening stuff they sell is a bit dubious at times, but their seed potatoes are the exception.
Have to agree with David here. I never buy seed pots from the catalogue suppliers. The prices they charge are crazy.
Wilkos or the local garden centre for me. They are usually a good price plus you dont have to pay postage (a bag of pots is heavy!)
Always have good results with Wilkinsons and they have a good choice

I can see why you want them, they are so lovely - most flavoursome potato I have ever had. The other posters are right the bet value is local garden centre etc. but i do know a garden centre getting them soon (they are online also) if you really want that variety i can keep you posted? Although it may be that some varieties come into shops later that others (we bought ours in the first week of March last year) so it may pay to wait a bit.
Hi, I can't help you with a site which has roosters in stock but if you do find a website selling them before paying postage and packing try googling 'discount vouchers' sometimes you can get a discount code which knocks off postage and packing.

Check the internet to see if there is a Potato Fair in your area. Usually offer a choice of over 100 varieties.
STOP PRESS
Wilkinsons had Rooster potatoes in today
PJ
Excellent news.. I'm going there now.
click thru plants bulbs & seeds, then seed potatoes, maincrop (page 2)
Try B&Q as well. They have a fair range of seed spuds.
Also Homebase
It won't help this year, but last autumn Thompson & Morgan were doing a post free offer. I ordered seed potatoes, shallots and lots of other things with future delivery dates. That meant that they are delivering everything at the proper time but I have not had to pay any postage. A big bag of charlotte potatoes arrived last week (£3.39). They are a much better size than the ones I bought at the garden centre last spring.
Thompson & Morgan have free postage again until midnight tonight.
Poundland have seed spuds, too. Eight for a quid!

Check to see whether there is a Potato Fair in your area.
I attended the Hampshire one on Saturday and there were more than 100 different varieties to choose from, plus other stalls with seeds and plants.
Potatoes were sold by the bag or individually, which enables you to check out a number of varieties without having to buy a 5 kilo bag.

With reference my previous reply:
Check out : www.charlton-park.co.uk
I have their seed potato list 2011 in front of me now.
It lists 53 first earlies, 43 second earlies and 63 main crop.
Something tells me that there should be one or two in their list that would meet with everyone's approval.
