organic plug plants

  I would like to start growing my own vegs. and have limited space so thought I would use containers and possibly one small raised bed; i should like to grown organically and start off by using some organic plug plants in various vegs. but dont want to purchase a variety box as shown in the organic catalogue. Can anyone recommend any other links I might try.

  The method you suggest is a very expensive way to go about this.
  
  I think I would be tempted to buy seeds of my choosing and sow a pinch or a specific number very thinly in a 3" pot ( or similar) and grow them on the window sill till planting out time.
  
  Many veg seed are of a size that you can space them out individually in the container to save pricking out.
  
  You can save the remainder of the packet for future years.
  
  I have been known to sow seeds up to 5 years old with some success.
