The local garden shop in the arcade has a dedicated allotment grower for an assistant and he always gives me good advice, whilst his colleague gives me the opposite advice (then they don't go wrong!)
This winter's autumn broad beans are no longer in existence through hard frosts. Plant them in seed trays again now to start them off and plant out when they are growing ok.
Seems like a good idea for my sitting room window.
I haven't sown my broad beans yet due to the weather but will saw them in Febr. or March. You do not have to start them in seed trays. In my opinion a lot of work especially if you grow - like me - about 10 rows.
Have you just stuck the seeds in now? and...hoping...?!
