    Hi All,
Well ive been to the garden centre today as a special treat (who's birthday is it?)
And as ive been extra good today i was given a a few euro to spend on what i like and as ive a hedge all the way around the 2 acre garden ive got,
i thought it would be a good idea to have one border (40ft long x 4feet wide) as a wild flower border, it helps the bee's and butterfly to live happy and i think it's nice to have a full mixture of some of the wild flowers we dont see as much of as we once did.

Now having bought the large pkt of seeds i was interested to read that in fact you can expect to wait approx 3 years for the area to become fully flowered,

So i'll be sowing in april/march time and lets hope it works and this part of the garden has that natural look.

I couldnt help but notice the staff in the garden centre clearing large spaces both in and outside (not long now and all the tree's / plants etc will be in situ,)
    I cant wait;

If there is one place i never get fed up with it's the garden centre,
I cant stand going to the large food halls "with the boss" as i end up getting elbowed, stood on, rammed by some 90 year old trolly dolly or trying to get passed the maffia who insist on standing in the middle of the isle chatting for france and then give you that dirty look as you say excuse as you sqeeze passed.

You just dont get this sort of person in the middle of the week in the garden centre,
Fair enough you do get a few who talk to them self's and the odd one who looks like they've had a fight with the comb "as thier hair sticks out from side to side
But all in all they are a nice tribe and ive never yet been beaten up by the customers and so it's a place i never get tired of.

    What about you?

couldn't agree with you more Pun, I have my food shopping delivered for this very reason. A lot of my friends will not understand that I dislike shopping and that I have never and will never see the reason for "window shopping" or spending hours wondering from shop to shop for a pair of shoes. But the garden centre ...... well I can spend hours in there going through the seed packets pouring over books or just wondering up and down the plants. I will even spend ages pouring over the "gadgets" only to decide that they are for the "yummy mummies" in their well selected shoes and go back to the seeds.

    Gem

PS happy birthday by the way

Yes, I share your love of garden centres, or nurseries. The staff at my local nurery are very friendly and knowledgeable.
I went there yesterday just to buy a birthday card, because their cards are a bit different from the usual. I came back with 9 cards and two packs of sweet peas.
Oh well, the cards will get used over time.
Should have sent you one punpun. Happy birthday!
