I have limeted space but really want to grow some raspberries.
Having a whole row is unfeasble as I would not be able to have all my other crops and flowers. I know I can grow 2 plants up a stake, any suggestions for the best veriaty? Ideally prolific crops, I have some sunny well drained soil for them to live in
i know I should of done this in the autumn but life got a bit busy!!!
Gardeners Question Time Radio 4 had a discussion about growing them in pots quite recently. Go to their website. There are often links.

hello sparklepinksunflower.
I've been successfully growing ' joan j' autumn fruiting rasps for past few years .
I planted 1cane per pot ( in my case about 15'' square plastic ones from pounstretcher) they have cropped since year 1.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies
I am running out of space for pots in sunny posistions as toms, cucumbers and chillis take priority so going to put the rasps in the ground. I bought 2 canes yesterday as I was in Wilkos and thet were only £2 each. I will go and buy a stake at the weekend and have my 2 solitry cains in a little bit of the "veg patch"( 2x2m)
If you don't have a huge amount of room I'd be mindful about planting rasberry canes in the garden. I grew them for a couple of years and by the end of the second year they were putting runners up in the veg bed.
