Hello
Last year I planted an Alfred apricot cordon, in a south facing position. I did read that it was best to put it in an east facing position because a south facing position would encourage it to flower early, but this was really the only available place for it. Well as expected it already has flower buds! I am now panicking that the frost will get to the flowers, and that its too early for pollination.
How soon from the buds appearing are they likley to open? how can i protect the flowers ? (i read taht if I cover with fleece the fleec musnt touch the flowers, which seems impossible) Should i pollinate by hand, and if so, how?
Many thanks
