My daughter gave me an electric propagator as a gift, and I want to sow some tomato and pepper seeds. Is it too early or is it time to sow them now.
I need some advice on how to grow cucumber marketmore. I want to grow some indoor and some outside, can anyone tell me if I need to fertilise the flowers or remove the male flowers I am confuse.
With a propogator the problem comes when the seedlings have outgrown it but conditions outside are still grim.
I would grow an 'all female' type of cuc' , but as you have marketmore I'd remove all male flowers as soon as you can tell them from the females/ Cuc's are bitter when fertilised. Cheers, Tony.
I totally agree with Tony.
It will be around 6 weeks yet till I sow my peppers and about 10 for my cucumbers.
I do my Chillis a bit sooner
This is how I do it;
Cucumber;
Peppers;
Chillis;
Hi Kleftiwallah and Tee Gee,
Thanks you both for your useful advice about the propagator and the cucumber male flowers and the links
