A friend gave me some runners last year which I plan to have on the allotment but as the plot wasn't ready then I put them in the garden. They are looking very healthy but I have managed to prepare the bed on the allotment sooner than I thought I would an d wondered if I could move them now or should I stick to my plan and let them fruit this year and move them in the autumn.
Depends what sort they are. Late-fruiters could be moved now. Otherwise wait till autumn.
If they are looking good I would leave 'em as they are
Still time to move them. After all the little thinhs you buy in B&Q etc. aren't even for sale yet!
Just make sure you get a good amount of earth around the rootball so you don't damage the roots too much.
Agree with whatalottie, they'll be fine
I'd give it a go too GEM.
I was told to let them settle for a year before allowing them to fruit anyway, but if you've got the space ready on the lottie, why not? J.
I'd be inclined to move them too, it's still early in the season, plenty of time for them to grow and produce fruit. I've had juicy fruit from plants in their first year.
