Basket Case!

  Idly channel hopping yesterday evening while waiting for the dreadful ‘Secret Fortune’ to finish, I alighted on a shopping channel where the expert was demonstrating a self-watering hanging basket. Apart from the outrageous cost [plus high carriage charges and a premium rate phone call!], there was nothing wrong with the baskets. That couldn’t be said of the ‘expert’! Sensibly enough, he recommended adding slow release fertiliser and water retention granules. He then demonstrated how to add them to the water reservoir when, as every sensible person knows, they should go in the compost!
  
  Compost? What a coincidence, they’re also selling ‘professional container compost’ and – Whow! – it’s only £13 for a 70 litre bag plus £6 carriage! Shop locally and you can get two, or even three, bags of ‘best buy’ compost for the same money.

  Yes I know what you mean, oldends. It seems companies can market anything.
  But I think often customers who buy into such marketing ploys only have themselves to blame for being so daft.
