I have greenfly just beginning to take a hold in the GH. I noticed them on a climbing plant earlier in the week so brought it outside and have managed to get rid of them off that one only to find another plant today with a few greenfly on it. Do they hatch from a tiny cream egg because I squashed quite a few of those today.

I've mixed a solution of olive oil and garlic with warm water to spray with any other suggestions to kill them would be much appreciated.

I saw my first green fly on the roses last week. There were not too many so I just squashed them with my thumb. I believe that aphids are born pregnant and give birth to live young. I always just watch out for them and squash them before they become a problem.

I have some of those rather toxic yellow strips which you can hang in a GH to catch bugs wonder whether to put one up just to see what is in there, I did give the GH a good clean in Oct/Nov and didn't use the strips last year because I read somewhere they also attract the good pests.

The last thing anyone wants is pests in the GH just when you are putting seedlings in there for the new growing season.

I found some on a pot of overwintered pansies. I had 4 pots, 3 healthy ones and one that looked a bit peeky. On closer inspection it was crawling with them!

I put it outside 3 days ago and something has munched the majority of them already! Between that and the cold to get them. I think the pansies will recover!
