I will hopefully harvest a little of my asparagus for the first tme over the next few days and would love to know how others prepare/cook their home-grown treasure.

Steamed in microwave steamer bags from Morrisons, ( I think). Or just steam them in a microwave or on the hob.
I have an asparagus kettle from Lakeland Ltd. Its also great for corn. The bottoms of the spears are sitting in water but the tops just get steamed. It makes perfect asparagus IMHO.

Thank you very much Clearance Daily, honeysuckle and pjgolf. I shall steam them and I'll order an asparagus kettle too (hopefully home-grown asparagus will be on the menu every year from now on )
Coat in olive oil and grill or griddle. Nice with balsamic when serving.
