I purchashed some marian sweed seeds just after Chistmas, they came compleat with a small propagator. The instructions said to sow them in Feb'/Mar' & slowly thin them out as they grew but I chose to sow them in large single cells in a greenhouse, they are about 3" tall now & I put them outside each day to harden off.
When will it be safe to plant them in the veg plot ?
I'd give them a few more weeks but be very careful when you're planting out. Swede is usually better direct-sown and can react badly to transplanting. Make sure your soil is nice and sweet, too.
Swedes are better sown direct into the soil and I always leave mine until mid May
They grow very quickly and I always had a good crop.
