Hi there, I was looking at my blueberries when I was repotting them and noticed that there were little brown lumps on the stems. When scrapped off there was a powder. Now when you scrap them off on the new growth its got a liquid in, anyone any clue what this is and how to treat? Many thanks
I do have pictures but not sure how to put them up
They could be scale insects

Sorry - here is some info
Thank u for that I thought I was going to have to get rid of the bushes
Looks like a spot on diagnosis, not that I'd know
Very different looking plant to my blueberry, though I would say yours is a good year or two more mature.
Will keep an eye out those pests!
Yeah I had them about 3 or 4 years
oooh.... shame about the lumps but what big shoots you have on your plant, mines only a couple of years old and in a pot with ever so tiny shoots.
Hope you are able to treat the infestation, how do you get such strong growth though...mines inthe right soil and gets rain water.
Mine have only ever been watered with tap water and the occasional feed, other than that and being in full sun all day, they dont really get any special treatment. It could just be the age of the plants. I am sure that yours in time will get the same
