my first allotment!

  Hi all,
  
  i was hoping for some advice on a brand new allotment i have just taken on, it has not grown any vegetables on it at all yet as it has literally just been built.
  
  what vegetables would be best to begin with?
  
  im brand new to this so any advice would be great

  By brand new do you mean it's a new site that has been dug over & is ready to plant? Has it had any manure on it?
  I think you need to ask yourself what you like to eat. Potatoes would be good start. There's a very good & cheap seed site on ebay premierseeds.co.uk I & others have had good results. This is my second year of using them.

  hi newbie1,like yourself im new to growing my own its my 2nd year,i cant really advise you on what to do apart from i know that potatoes will help break up the ground for you,you have certainly come to the best place for advice this site and the people on here are just brilliant they will help you all the way, any question will be answered they have helped me no end, so welcome to you and i hope all goes well for you,kind regards Chris
