Plants foaming

    I have some foam like stuff on my lavender, does any =one know what this is and If i can get rid of it? Looks like lots of little bubbles.

    Cuckoo spit. This is the covering of the larva of a Frog hopper insect.. It protects itself from predation and dehydration by this 'foam'. A few choices, either ignore it, they do little harm in small numbers or wipe if off and find the tiny green insect and squish it.

    I think this is what we called 'cuckoo spit' as kids. The bubbles hide the nymph of the froghopper.

    These bugs are sap suckers so you might want to get rid of them. We just use a very light spray of water from the hose to wash them off the plants.

    wiki the term or look it up in a bug and pest book and you will see photos of the bubbles to compare with what you have in your garden.
