I'd say too late for tomatoes, but you should be able to buy plants quite cheaply now. Herbs (depending on variety) and salad stuff should be fine. What else do you want to grow?
It is disappointing when things don't germinate, but I'm wondering why you seem to have had so many crop failures. Did you sow the seed in your greenhouses? Did anything come up?
I haven't used my heated propagator for a couple of months now, I only use it very early on in the season.

When you say large plastic greenhouses do you mean full-size or the mini type?
Where did you so the seed - in ground or in trays- inside our outdoors?
Seeds want to grow so if they are new this year the should germinate with little problem-was compost ok?
Give a bit more info then hope to help.

    Keep your chin up Wendy,

these things happen to all of us - don't think YOUR speshial..! ! ! The thing to do is spread your bets, some seed inside, some seed outside, some here, and some there.

Think of the old Gardeners of the big houses and nurseries where if they didn't have other 'strings to their bows' people would go hungry and no supermarket to visit, Best wishes and don't give up. Cheers, Tony.

I sowed leeks on the allotment in March and they didn't come up so I sowed somew in a tray, very old seed and when they didn't appear I bought some new seed and sowed that. Just afterwards I noticed that the old seed was begginning to come up and now the first sown ones have appeared.

Well you can never have too many leeks... but the tought of planting them all out is a bu=it daunting!!
