Hello:
I have an allotment and this year the pigeon attack has been early and severe, with the pigeons attacking plants that I haven't seen attacked before or so early.
Beetroot leaves
Lettuces
Runner Beans?!
Unripe Gooseberries
Unripe White currents?!
Anyone else had the same problem on their allotment? This has been a problem across the allotment. It's so disheartening!
Thanks.
Michelle

I'm not surprised you've had an increase in pigeon attacks as there's ever increasing numbers and they've had a tough winter. They're just taking advantage of all the the goodies now freely available. Pigeons are a very resourceful and cunning adversary. I've watched in wonder as they've crawled under netting and up onto the tops of sprouts. Something I'd have never believed if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes
I've not had too much of a problem as I have an air rifle and a very useful rabbit, now pigeon, trap. They make a very good, lean and tasty addition to our diet, just ask any top chef!
