Should I be feeding my potatoes growing in a deep tub. I used multi purpose potting compost and gradually earthed them up. They are now way above the top of the tub with healthy growth. But should I feed them, and if so, with what. Obviously, in the ground I wouldn't, but I wondered if growing in a tub would lack something? Many thanks, Maggie
Hi
No real need to feed them. Anything that has low nitrogen and a bit of potash won't go wrong. Plenty water!!

There is a specific potato fertiliser available that is used at planting time and again when earthed up the first time. I forget the NPK composition, but know that it is low on N, which is what your multi-purpose is probably high on, causing plenty of greenery. I think that you would probably be better watering with tomato fertiliser once a week.

thanks, both. Sorry about delay in replying - I've been away for a few days. Maggie
