New thread just right for Old Fogeys.
PLANT LABELS.
Today I trod on a plastic flower pot that was rolling about the lawn. It cracked down the side and was thus no longer any use as a flower pot. On the way to the rubbish bin I thought of a use for it; Cut out the bottom circle with scissors, Cut down the side and lay the whole thing down flat, cut down from top to bottom making PLANT LABELS.
If you have an idea to save money why not share it?
One at a time please.
But what do you write on the label with?
It's too slippy for pencil to adhere, my felt tips run....
Thanks
A sharpie permanent marker works for me on any surface. I have used it it on plant pots too.
Try a Sharpie! I use them on labels made from plastic milk bottles and they're fine. The also write on balloons which is why I use them professionally.
That's 2 thumbs up for Sharpie them. They must be good.
Dare to be different - mines a 'Stabilo' permanent marker, stays on the label for the duration then comes off with oven cleaner and a bit of elbow grease.
I'm into my second year with the same marker
How do the manufacturers make their plastic easy to write on in pencil, and so easy to rub off....I want to reuse the labels, so am reluctant to use recycled plastic things.....thanks for your ideas...????

I use a marker pen called a Berol permanent marker.
I have also cut up some of the ice cream containers when they are empty.
I've never heard of a Sharpie?
After they have been used you could always throw them away?
