Yellow leaves usually indicate a shortage of a particular nutrient, usually magnesium.
The leaves go yellow in a particular pattern if it is a magnesium deficiency.
Yellow patches form between the veins of the leaves, but the veins themselves and the outer edge of each leaf stays green (at first, anyway)
If your leaves have this pattern they need a feed containing magnesium.

Shortage of water can also cause yellow leaves.
