    Hi All,
Well the weathers been a bit funny today here in france, It was a very light shower this morning that lasted all of 20 mins and didnt do much good & then it was windy most of the day.

So this weather is perfect for sorting out the shed or greenhouse and in my case it was a little of both,
In the greenhouse ive chucked into recycle bin anything plastic im not using
" like plastic pots" (ive hundreds of them and so now i dont keep any i get with new plants)

Ive also been sorting out verious bulbs ive removed from the spring flowering urns,
If your new to the gardening and your thinking of storing any bulbs, "tulips/daffs," etc etc its a good idea to dry the bulbs out having removed the leaves etc and then store them in a cool place ready for replanting later in the year,

Dont make the mistake of leaving your bulbs in buckets or piled on top of each other as this will only cause a mold to set on the bulbs as they are not getting any air around each bulb,

So inspect each bulb for any rot or damage and lay all the good bulbs out on a flat surface (i use old chicken wire i made into a square frame) by using wire netting air can get around all the bulb and this helps dry the whole bulb.

Once your happy the bulbs have dried, they are then stored in a cool dry place such as a shed, i use old onion netted sacks "but lady's tights are just as good for storage use.

By storing the bulbs now, you'll be able to re-plant them later for your next springs flowering.

    Regards Punpun

    HI, Punpun,

Wish you'd posted this earlier when I was wondering what to do with bulbs planted for a spring display and have since died back. Needing the pots for something else I disposed of dafs and tulips because I didn't know how to dry the bulbs for next year.

I've an allium which flowered and liked the bloom of but was going to dispose of that and get new for next year.

I've lilles which did well in pots last year so kept them sheltered over winter and delved into their pots early this year, replanted the large bulbs and planted some of the tiny side bulbs into small pots thinking they won't do anything until next year. I'm a tad bit over run with lillies now having planted three more varieites.

The little bulbs have grown into tiny versions of the original plantsmiley - doh

    Hi Zoomer,
Ive thought of one that will help you out ref bulbs and its this, Hyacinths!
Two things here, (1) if you let the hyacinths grow to form seed balls at the ends of their stems, you wait until all the leaves including the stem just come away from the bulb without any hard pulling,

Inside these green coloured balls you'll find "Black" seeds, these are tobe sown and grown on, you'll find some seeds are small and white coloured these are to young to do anything with, so ot all the seed balls will have black seeds but some will.
    (2) If you replant the main bulbs back into the garden they'll re-flower later this summer.
