I have just finished some intensive studying and it's a bit later than usual for planting anything out (veg. garden). I thought runner beans, some potatoes. Is thee anything else I can sow, or is it too late now?
Good Luck with the studies and any results you may be waiting for.
This link has an easy to read chart of when to sow, when to plant out and when to harvest. It has been a tricky planting season so far (drought and deluge, warm spring then chilly May) so your 'late' plantings may do better than you think.

Rather than start with seed, you could help yourself catch up by buying a few plants - courgettes, cucumbers, beans, tomatoes. If you have any gardening friends, they may well have a few plants to spare now.
But there are some seeds you can still sow. e.g. late carrots and beetroot, and salad crops like lettuce and rocket.
If you really want to try potatoes, you might just get away with planting maincrop ones now, but it's too late for earlies.
You can still get xmas spuds on line, planted now in bags they would be ready to harvest October time and unless we have a frost may continue growing until November. These are 1st and 2nd early varieties with a quicker growing time than maincrop.
If you do decide on these don't let them freeze in the bag, it's unlikely to defrost before February.
I'd certainly try sowing runner beans direct now- it's still May, just. They will crop later than usual, but will extend your cropping season.
There are probably still small plants at GC/DIY chains so why not try those too? J.

french beans will be fine sown now, lettuce, beetroot, carrots, parsnips, purple sprouting broccoli etc.
Was in Homebase yesterday and they were full of all sorts of veggie plants so you've got loads of options
You can also sow chad, spinach, radish, spring onion and kohl. Chicory in June/July.
