They have been painfully slow to grow. I sowed them alittle late in May and they only have four true leaves which are quite small. I've brought two plants indoors and put on a sunny window sill with two outdoors in a plastic GH to see which one's pick up.
Are they difficult to grow or have I just sown them too late?
Hi Zoomer, I think you've probably sown them a bit late for us up here.
I usually sow mine, if growing, in April. I tend to grow Baby Rosanna which is a small fruit variety. The plants are attractive in their own right with nice purple flowers with yellow centres. BTW you need to mist the flowers to help the fruit set. I keep them in a part-shaded greenhouse & do get some fruits by the end of the summer. Need a decent summer though. J.
I thought they were sown prehaps too late.
I'll see how these get on and even if I just get flowers there's always next year...
Hi this year I sow my aubergine seed at the beginning of April in the propagator and has germinated but at around Easter when the weather was warmer I transfer them outside. This month as it rains so often and cloudly and cold night the aubergine plants as still small about three to four inches tall I have given up for this year. I grew them for the last 3 years and they were about a foot tall but not this time.
