I went on Saturday and it was my first time. I really enjoyed it and spent ages looking at all the nursery stands (and spent a few quid). The show gardens were no where the standards of Chelsea however I thought the Bodgery was excellent. I really enjoyed the 'ask the expert' sessions in the floral marquee and was fortunate to meet Carol Klein who was very freindly and a tad barmy!

i went on Friday, didn't see or hear any of the GW experts, but still enjoyed it very much. That might have something to do with frequent visits to the Good Food section where we tasted lots of free samples of various nibbles. TBH the only thing I bought was a knife sharpener for £15 - my greenhouse is already overflowing with tomatoes, aubergines and chilli plants.

We had a great family day out at GWL yesterday as my Father's Day treat. Really good fun, some wonderful displays in the Floral Marquee and great to see people like Joe Swift, Carol Klein and Simon King just wandering around among the mortals. Then around five something strange happened and many of the seemingly normal people suddenly turned into devils incarnate as stands were dismantled and gardens uprooted ! If the large Scotsman making himself known on the chrysanthemum stand reads this board, you really did want those cuttings didn't you ? My young daughter was appalled at your elbowing tactics and she travels regularly on London's underground.
Didn't spoil the day though and I even spent £20 on a beautiful pink brugmansia.
Hopefully see everybody again next year. Perhaps there could be an area for message board regulars to meet up.

I wooed a lady with a flat about ten minutes from the show, but I fear she dumped me, because she said there was a lot I don't know about gardening.
I am of course happy to accept such opinions as fact.

She has got a window box.

I very much regret i am unable to attend.
