Morning all, I got up this morning to find that the foxes/fox cubs have been having fun in my garden... but with other peoples rubbish... smiley - sadface Namely someone's baby's nappy.... It was all torn up and shredded around my veggie patch and I had the lovely job of getting it up a bin bag first thing this morning.

My question is that after picking the offending item up and all the loose gel and some of the dirt mixed in with it, will I have to dig up and discard my veg plants? I don't mind finding animal faeces around the veg (as as long as I wash it I know its ok and its a natural thing for veg grown in fields too), but the thought of it being human just doesn't sit well...

Thanks for any input on this one...

If it were me I would get out there now with the hose and give everything a good spraying- you dont really want to throw everything way do you?- all a bit unpleasant I know but..........

Thanks Geoff smiley - smiley No I dont want to, but by the looks of it, its going to rain in a few so lets hope that will give it all a good wash down. The fruits are only small at the moment, so hopefully by the time the marrows and courgettes are big enough to eat they will have had a few good rain washes smiley - smiley

I understand your feelings, rain. I agree with Geoff, though:

    > Give everything that was touched a thorough showering with your hose, and

    > So long as you follow your usual kitchen hygiene, and wash everything thoroughly, it'll be fine.

From what you say, your crops have a way to go before being harvested, and sunshine and rain will do most of the cleansing job for you.
