Hello
I am growing strawberries for the first time this year, I have Mara de Bois, Fenella, garigette, and Cambridge Late pine
So far only mara de bois and garigette have been ready to eat and I am very dissappointed by the flavour, especially Mara de Bois. they have very little favour and are certainly not sweet
garigette has been very variable, with some being nice and sweet and others gaving no flavour
I am feeding them with liquid strawberry feed, and allowing them to get very red before picking.
Where am I going wrong?
Lack of water I would suggest, or lack of sun. You don't say if they are in the ground or in a more restricted place.
Ours are in the ground and we never feed them during the fruiting season. Maybe we should. The flavour is excellent though.
Hello
they are in pots
I have tried to not overwater, because I didnt wnat to cause them to rot or be watery! I didnt realise this may effect the flavour, athough they hvent been allowed ot dry out so not sure if its thats the problem, it has rained alot.
