I got 6 sprout plants from B+Q early in the year and they are growing away lovely, but there's no sign of the sprouts at the leaf junctions do you think I'm wasting my time and effort in them growing or is there time yet for them to "sprout".

Difficult one to answer due to not knowing what variety they are!
Some varieties are relatively early in maturing (Sept)whereas others are late(Nov)
So all I can say is; be patient you might be growing a late variety!
Question ; are the bottom leaves still quite green?
Sprouts usually begin to mature as the lower leaves die back.
Don' t give up!
For a comparison and if I remember( senility problem ) I will have a look at mine tomorrow and see how they are progressing

Hi Tee Gee, the bottom leaves are as healthy as the top ones but I think the label is in the garden so will go and have a wade through them tomorrow and see if I can find it.

Tee Gee, I found the label and the sprouts are Wellington.

As I suspected ......a late variety classified for harvesting from Dec to March.
Had a look at mine ( Maximus)which I get the feeling are at about the same stage as yours and there are no signs of sprouts yet.
So yes it is a bit of patience that is called for but think this way.......they will taste all the better on the Xmas dinner plate!
