my cabbages were doing great, until this week i have had an invasion of pest eating away at them. Is it too late to use anything to kill them if not whats the best thing to get rid of them.
If you mean caterpillars, go over the plants and squash them. It is probably too late to cover them as you will be enclosing the pests on the plants. Most cabbages survive the onslaught, especially if they are cabbages for the autumn/winter.

You can still do something to save your cabbages and its very very simple,
just use the dish washing used water,( provided you've used washing up liquid)
It will do the trick ,
We use a bowl for the dish washing and as soon as the water is in a cool state it gets chucked over the cabbage's,
Ive no holes or signs of pests on any of the cabbages or lettuce,
