Watering

  Good morning to each,ive just planted my 2nd early potatoes and some carrots how often should i be watering them at this time,seems a silly question but i dont want to over water them, kind regards Chris

  You do not say where you are from so I get the feeling that you are a bit early!
  
  Re-watering; providing my soil is well prepared I never water potatoes.
  
  With carrots I just ensure that they don't go dry prior to germination, then I play the weather, which as it happens most years I never water these either.
  
  My theory is let them search for moisture and in this way they become longer, if they find water in the top few inches they invariably form stumpy roots.
  
  Hence my reason for minimal watering.
  
  I hope that answers your question and let me give you a tip that i was given over forty years ago and that is;
  
  More plants die from OVER watering than from under watering.
