Hi all,
We want to plant a row of ornamental trees to screen an ugly "garden shed" next door. The situation is a south-facing fence and the trees need not be more than 8 - 10 feet high. We would prefer evergreens so that the foliage will hide the shed from view all-year-round, but we would like something colourful.
Any recommendations?
Many thanks.
I like the Mahonia my neighbour has planted between us.
see here;
It screens both of us, we both get the benefit of the scented flowers and the purple berries.
............and yes I can still chat with them although I can't see them.
Photinia red robin is another suggestion. It`s evergreen with bright red young leaves in spring, and they stay red right into summer. Once the shrub is full size you could run a clematis hybrid through it for summer flowers, if you wish.
