    Goodafternoon Daisy and thank you.

I am first, unless someone is already posting.

Had a busy morning and now waiting to hear how Grandson is as it is thought he may have pnuemia (sp).

Still very hot here but a lovely breeze. Hope all and sundry are enjoying their day.

Thank you Daisy I was very confused .
You pop off to Saturn for a week and come back and it is still September.
Weather was great, food was great, terrible gravity sickness though.

My garden was a mess when I came back I need a Margaret.

Welcome home Kate. Hope you had a good holiday, with plenty of puds and choccie treats.

We definitely need something! I wonder who has been so trigger happy.

You've been very quiet this morning Geoff!! Onwards and upwards. 'To infinity and beyond'.

Have egg sarnie for lunch. A useless bit of info. Last of the eggs. Hopefully more arriving tomorrow. Definitely much better than shop bought ones and so much cheaper as she won't let me pay her.

How much is chicken feed Geoff?

    Kate

Arm is as painful as it was. Thanks for asking. Hoping to get a letter this week with an appointment date, but then we all live in hope!

Did think about checking weight on Wii but have to get off to collect granddaughter from school. Daughter still waiting for grandson to be x-rayed. Poor treatment by NHS yet again.

    Hi All

Only been gone just over an hour and so many posts. You're all nuts.

Kate - Grandson been back and forth to the doctors for over a week. Daughter took him to local hospital on Saturday. Nothing wrong, chest clear keep taking the anti bios. Doctors again this morning, sent straight to hospital. Been there since about 11.30. Eventually decided there was something not quite right. Xray done and now having antibios via a candular. Not sure yet what the problem is as daughter was using office phone because her mobile battery gone.

No Yvie, you are not getting old! XF is absolutely pathetic.

There was nothing at all offensive in Kit's post, which I read before it disappeared.

Kate, agree with you - nicer to know what's wrong than the 'not quite sure' approach.

Kit, hope grandson feels a lot better quickly. Even a canular (sp?) isn't nice - had one of those once, very uncomfortable.

This part of the garden MB is specifically for off topic chat so at least it is entertaining, often it is informative.

Forgot to mention, when I was in the garden doing some tidying up I was in the bulb border and what did I spot coming through already, some Muscari 2 in fact, now I know it's been cold then very very warm but I mean NOW in October.

Question as well, I have 2 Acer's in pots and they are getting very straggly, can I trim them to tidy them up or are they best left alone ?

Nearly 'weeded' them until i realised. thinking about it that clump always comes up before it should- oops, nearly said the 'C' word! --Leave the Acers alone this side of Spring. You'd run the risk of more frost damage to the cut bits than normal I think. Ok next Spring, a tidy up then would allow any new wood to harden up over the season before the next winter. J.

Grandson eventually got home at about 6. Has had strong anti biotic but they didn't keep him in, no Childrens' ward there any more. Still has the cannula (thanks whoever corrected me) and has to go back tomorrow for another lot plus results of blood and other tests done today. He looks so poorly and his breathing sounds awful. I can see my daughter whisking him off to another hospital in the Trust if he shows no improvement. Don't blame her. It's her child and she should do what she thinks best.

I get an excellent service through my GP but the NHS do get it wrong sometimes although most would support the NHS as a shining flag ship and 99.9% of the time they get it right.

I have a very sad experience at the hands of out local trust, we are sueing them for negligence and failing to diagnose a condition.

Geoff, is it your computer or a problem with the internet provider? I have an abysmally slow connection from work which is why I prefer posting from home as its so much faster. Not the fault of the ISP though, its the fault of the boss! Such a source of irritation that I'm not even allowed to talk about it at home.

Kit, really hope your grandson gets on ok - make sure your daughter keeps pestering - sometimes its better to make a nuisance of yourself.

Kate, how was the trip? You must have some interesting tales to tell!

Ok here is a gardening question. I have loads of bulbs to plant but the ground where I want to put them is like concrete at the moment. Any ideas, apart from a pickaxe?

BT had a major outage today, sometimes internet is just on go slow. Internet providers always blame your computers first.

Lottie, Jo, Rain I had a fab time but I had to sign the official secrets act, so I must be careful with what I say, you never know who is listening.

Lottie I had to water the ground to get a bamboo stake in today, bulb planting would be impossible, I often end up planting bulbs in pots then transferring later on.

Thank you all for your good wishes for grandson. Haven't heard anything as yet, so am hoping that he was OK through the night. I was totally shattered and was in bed by 10.30! Unheard of.

Zoomer, I am the biggest complainer going, only when I feel it necessary though. Daughter wants me to write to the hospital to complain about their treatment yesterday, but I feel it will fall on deaf ears. Yesterday afternoon I spoke to a lady I know whose daughter had to wait over 4 hours to be seen at one of the other trust hospitals. She had a broken ankle. All cubicles were full and it was standing room only. Once again, too few medical staff, plenty of clipboard holders.

Hoping today will be less fractious.

    Hi Kate

I am doing nothing today. It's strange how worry can take it out of you. Agree with you about the NHS.

I'm definitely doing nothing today. Grandson had a better night so I am looking after him while daughter pops to get granddaughters birthday stuff. He loves it here with me, especially when he's on his own as he gets to watch what he wants on TV/DVD and not what his sister wants.

Man on white contraption outside pretending to clean the pavement. Am going to inspect as I have a running complaint with council. I have been appointed their 'watchdog'. I find it hilarious. Bring back the brooms and big recepticles they wheel along.
