Could anyone recommend a bush or small tree that provides year round interest.
Flowers, Autumn colour, berries not asking much I know but would be grateful for any suggestions. I live in the north of England so we would need to be hardy.
Sorbus scalaris? It`s a rowan, hardy, with flowers, berries and autumn colour.
An amelanchier would also fit the bill.
But you might already see a lot of amelanchiers, as there are plenty of those planted all along the motorways in some parts of the north.

a variegated Pyracantha mohave or sparkler
Cotinus
I'd always suggest an Amelanchier.
Smashing early leaf colour. Pretty white flowers followed by dark berries that the blackbirds go mad for. Deciduous, but wonderful Autumn leaf colour.
Small tree, but can be kept as a shrub by annual pruning in early autumn.
I inherited one & would never be without one now.
Also in NWest & it faces East in a cold back garden. J.
