Not sure where to post this so I am doing it here. Friends of mine are planning a trip to Kew later this year and we wonder how much time do you need there? We are also thinking of seeing Gunter von Hagens exhibition the same day if possible. Non of us has been to Kew before.

Never been to Kew but I would imagine that it would take all day. I have visited Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh and that was a whole day and even then didn't see it all.

Not something that you can run round in a couple of hours.

Still worth a visit - when i was there , was a little train of carriages so you could see most of it quite quickly and get off at interest points, or go back on foot later
And a very helpful map so you can see the bits that particularly interest you.
I remember my husband sighing when i wanted to go and see the compost area - but it was spectacular - really!

    Hi
I went for he first time last October for my birthday outing. It was a beautiful warm day. We spent the whole day there and it was brilliant. However, we did not see everything then and I have a plan to go back to see things in a 'different' season as obviosly not a lot of flowers at that time of year. I thoroghly ecommend it! But I don't think you can do that and the other exhibition in the same day...

I've told me friends that my idea of doing both wasn't likely to work.

My next problem is how will I be able to smuggle my secateurs with me...

We went whilst we were on extended honeymoon - you need more than a day to be honest -
Just make sure when you get to the big Victorian glasshouse that you check out the sea horses in the basement.

There is too much to see - have been a couple of times since and it is a wonderful place
