Essex students make the news

On Thursday, 13, March students at St Peter's School in Burnham will be turning their classroom into a newsroom as part of the 麻豆官网首页入口's School Report Day.

On Thursday, 13, March schools across the UK will be taking part in the 麻豆官网首页入口's School Report Day.

Students will be putting together their own news features and publishing their reports on the school's website to link with the 麻豆官网首页入口.

麻豆官网首页入口 Essex's Ray Clark shares his radio knowledge

One of the schools taking part is St Peter's School in Burnham. A group of pupils from Years 9 and 10 have been preparing for the day by learning about news reporting and broadcasting.

麻豆官网首页入口 Essex Breakfast Show presenter Ray Clark held a workshop for the pupils to explain how news stories are gathered and then reported. They looked at how bulletins and programmes are put together and how to do a good interview.

Ray talked to them about his life in broadcasting and gave them some handy tips for the day. He said he was very impressed with the students and their genuine enthusiasm for the whole project.

John Whittingdale MP gets a grilling

The students are working on their news features for the day which will include an interview with local MP John Whittingdale and the story of when the St Peter's Gospel Choir went to sing live on-air at 麻豆官网首页入口 Essex.

On Thursday, the students will put all they have learnt into practice and their short programme will be broadcast on the local community radio station Saint FM and on the 麻豆官网首页入口 School Report website.

麻豆官网首页入口 Essex will also be broadcasting live from the school on the day, so tune in to hear how it goes.听听
