About This Event

The vibrant colours and heady, perfumed atmosphere of ancient Chinese poems are captured in all their richness by Mahler鈥檚 thickly-scored Das Lied von der Erde. Two star singers 鈥� tenor Stuart Skelton and mezzo Elisabeth Kulman, both regular 麻豆官网首页入口 Symphony Orchestra collaborators 鈥� join as soloists. Music director Sakari Oramo will also conduct a pared-back 麻豆官网首页入口SO in Mozart鈥檚 exhilarating Symphony No 35 鈥楬affner鈥�, it鈥檚 bubbling, buffa style a contrast to the restless musical introspection of Thomas Larcher鈥檚 Nocturne Insomnia 鈥� the second of three Larcher performances this season.
