George Benjamin and the National Youth Orchestra in a concert of orchestral masterworks that includes Debussy鈥檚 La Mer and Ligeti鈥檚 mesmerising Lontano. Pianist Tamara Stefanovich is the soloist in Ravel鈥檚 Concerto for the Left Hand.

About This Event

The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain return to conjure a series of vivid worlds, both real and imagined.

The sea roars and shimmers in Debussy鈥檚 La mer, Mussorgsky paints eerie visions of a Witches鈥� Sabbath, while Ligeti鈥檚 Lontano summons the 鈥榙ream worlds of childhood鈥�.

Ravel鈥檚 brooding Concerto for the Left Hand was commissioned by a pianist who lost an arm in the First World War.
