It was London that brought Grace Williams together with Ralph Vaughan Williams, her teacher at the Royal College of Music, and Benjamin Britten, a fellow student there.

From the thrilling ride of Britten鈥檚 1943 string showpiece, to Williams鈥� rarely performed 1950 Violin Concerto, we turn to Vaughan Williams鈥� fifth symphony. Composed during World War Two, this symphony is a contemplative yet rhythmically exciting and exquisitely flowing antithesis to the surrounding turmoil.
