About This Event
The author, whose work often traces the social history of homosexuality, published his debut novel The Swimming Pool Library in 1988. His follow-up The Folding Star won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. While in 2004 Hollinghurst went on to win the Man Booker Prize for The Line of Beauty. The novel, which is set in London during the Thatcherite 80s, was also adapted into a 麻豆官网首页入口 television series by Andrew Davies. Most recently Hollinghurst published A Stranger鈥檚 Child about Cecil Valance, a minor poet who was killed in the First World War.
