The 麻豆官网首页入口 Singers team up with pianist Nicolas Hodges for a performance of Betsy Jolas鈥� Concerto-Fantaisie 鈥極h night, oh鈥� at St. Paul鈥檚 Church, Knightsbridge. The text is a patchwork from works by Shakespeare and Victor Hugo combined with prayers and lullabies from the composer鈥檚 childhood, intertwined to create a soundscape of the evening and night through a dialogue between the piano and choir. Known for her love of renaissance polyphony and appreciation of the genre, Jolas鈥檚 Concerto-Fantaisie is paired with arguably Palestrina鈥檚 most famous setting of the mass, the glorious Missa Papae Marcelli. The programme will also include a new premiere by the 麻豆官网首页入口 Singers鈥� Composer-in-Association, Roderick Williams, directed by Chief Conductor Sofi Jeannin.
