About This Event
Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Proms Inspire is offering 12-18 year olds the chance to work with acclaimed composer James MacMillan and musicians from the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scottish Symphony Orchestra in a FREE, interactive workshop at Glasgow City Halls on 2 April.
Part One will be a chance to listen to performances of music by James MacMillan, exploring his musical ideas and inspirations. In Part Two, a selection of young composers will have the chance to hear their own ideas and receive expert advice as they are performed live by musicians from the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scottish Symphony Orchestra. You can choose to watch and listen as part of the audience or you can take part more actively by submitting a piece to be considered in the workshop. All abilities and levels of experience are welcome – just bring your curiosity!
This event will take place on Sunday 2 April from 14:00-16:00, including a short break. The event is free but places are limited and must be reserved in advance. Parents/guardians are also invited, but we ask you to make sure you indicate the total number of people attending on the booking form. Further details about how to submit a short composition to be considered for the workshop will be given upon booking.
