Devon Sawa plays a young chap who mysteriously ends up with one of his hands possessed. As a result he slays his friends only for them to come back as mischievous zombies in this cack-handed comedy (sorry).
Interestingly enough, despite this being an awful film it gets a fabulous transfer to DVD with a whole swathe of extras to boot.
As we learn from the nauseating director's commentary, Rodman Flender is big on stylistic touches that include filming an entire scene in red light. Nice for him but it's a killer for most DVD mastering, yet there is no loss of detail and the picture is pin sharp throughout.
And while Sawa grapples with his demonic hand, you may be left wondering if this disc has possessed your 5.1 amp. There's no denying that the film has an impressive sound score with intricate direction throughout. This includes a cat truly sounding like it's being swung around you, saw blades scorching through your rears, and plenty more. All this mayhem is additionally backed up with a thundering score that will send your woofer through the wall.
This superb DVD includes a very clever storyboard comparison with selected scenes and an alternate ending that sucks every bit as much as the cherry they eventually crowned this dog with. Listen if you can to the commentary, which is a miracle of patronising rubbish.
