It's well worth getting another helping of "American Pie", especially if it's on the DVD, which comes with everything but the pie crust.
Despite the often sunny locations, the colour scheme in this movie is quite muted. The DVD transfer handles the shades well in a typically pro transfer for such a new and successful movie.
The 5.1 sound mix tends to concentrate on the front speakers, but certainly handles the many pop tunes with real gusto and excellent separation.
Plenty of extra features come with the DVD including a busy audio commentary from the director, writer, producer, and selected stars of the cast. It's good fun to listen to as they discuss the embarrassing moments in great detail, and all marvel at Eugene Levy's improvisational skills.
Where you might be a little disappointed is the out-takes section. You'd perhaps assume that it would be the funniest collection of goofs ever, but it's actually pretty dull stuff. In fact, you're better off popping your disc in your DVD-ROM drive for the behind-the-scenes footage.
