Get up to speed with the galaxy of new characters in "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones" with our guide. WARNING: CONTAINS MINOR SPOILERS.
Name: Count Dooku
Played by: Christopher Lee
Star Words: "I am a man of my word, Viceroy."
The lowdown: A renegade Jedi, Count Dooku is the powerful presence who sets "Attack of the Clones" in motion. A political idealist who's disillusioned with the Republic, he abandons the Jedi order to emerge as the leader of a Separatist movement whose manoeuvres are set to bring intergalactic war. And he's pretty nifty with a lightsabre.
Name: Jango Fett
Played by: Temuera Morrison
Star Words: "I am a simple man trying to make my way in the universe."
The lowdown: Father to the original trilogy's fearful bounty hunter Boba (here appearing as a youngster), this rock-hard mercenary even puts his son to shame. Armed with dual pistols, retractable wrist blades and a jet-pack, he's the template for the mysterious Clone Army - he kicks ass.
Name: Senator Bail Organa
Played by: Jimmy Smits
Star Words: "Unfortunately, the debate is not over."
The lowdown: The soon-to-be foster-father of Princess Leia (though we'll have to wait until "Episode III" for that), Bail Organa is a crucial member of the Senate, and an ally of the Senator of Naboo. A background role in "Episode II", expect his role in the next encounter to grow.
Name: Dexter Jettster
Played by: Ronald Falk
Star Words: "This baby belongs to one of them cloners."
The lowdown: Old friend to Obi-Wan, this CGI-generated overweight cook and cafe-owner helps his chum out with some vital information that leads the Jedi to the rain-swept planet of Kamino, where he finds the Clone army. Does a mean omelette too.
Name: Zam Wesell
Played by: Leeanna Walsman
Star Words: "It's just a job."
The lowdown: The female bounty hunter hired to eliminate Senator Amidala. As beautiful as she is deadly, she's a marksperson with a top hit rate.... until she meets the Jedi Knights, that is.
Name: Cliegg Lars
Played by: Jack Thompson
Star Words: "Your mother had gone out early, as she always did, to pick mushrooms."
The lowdown: Crippled, wheelchair-bound husband to Anakin's mother, Shmi, and the link to Luke's future guardians - Owen and Beru.
