Super Troopers DVD (2002)

Rival police forces run amok in the crude and lewd "Super Troopers" which, as you'll find out from this DVD, all leads back to the university days of a bunch of pals.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Picture Despite the low budget, this film has a slick veneer, and it transfers to DVD with good strong colours and a sharp image.

Sound The 5.1 mix is a lively affair that does a good job of enhancing the comedy gags.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Audio Commentary One Director (and Thorny in the movie) Jay Chandrasekhar teams up with fellow actor Erik Stolhanske for a fairly sober assessment of their madcap comedy.

It turns out that their quintet of talent, Broken Lizard, was formed while they were at Colgate University. The budgets from their college stage days haven't moved on much, as most scenes for this film had to be completed in only one or two takes.

Audio Commentary Two Actors and contributing writers to the film Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, and Paul Soter form another somewhat sedentary commentary track.

Gettting the film off the ground, the casting, and how the shoot went are the topics of conversation. What you also get from both commentaries is every background actor identified, as it turns out that most of them went to Colgate University too.

Featurette It might not be incredibly funny, but all credit to Broken Lizard for not churning out a mind-numbingly dull promotional featurette. Instead, this five-minute piece blends footage from the film along with a voiceover to produce a spoof expos茅 of a police force on the edge.

Additional Extra Features Also on the DVD are outtakes, extended scenes (with optional commentaries), a trailer for the film, and trailers for other 20th Century Fox titles.
