Born in Edinburgh, I spent most of my life as a Care Assistant. I remember very little about the war but very clearly standing on Waverley Station, Edinburgh to welcome my uncle back from Bangkok where he had been a prisoner of war for four years. I clearly think back to how very tall and thin he appeared and wore khaki shorts and Burma hat.
