A FRIEND OF MINE STARTED WORK AS A TELEGRAM BOY IN 1944.
WHEN ANYONE IN THE ARMED FORCES WAS KILLED IN ACTION A TELEGRAM WAS SENT TO THEIR NEXT- OF -KIN,AND THESE WERE DELIVERED BY HAND--- -BY MY FRIEND.
THE LOOK ON THE FACES OF THE PERSON ANSWERING THE DOOR CAN WELL BE IMAGINED-AND SOME OF THEM STILL LIVE IN HIS
MEMORY TO THIS DAY.
