I was a school boy when the war was in progress.
I remember a bomb droping that killed our neighbour, an air raid warden.
Saturday morning was the time I had to help with the shopping,going from one shop to another and waiting in queues for as long as 2 hours.
I had five older brothers-all in different services,one was killed in Sicily.
When my brothers got home we had
a big street party in Church Field Lane
