From 9333419 W/O Pilot Ken Baldwin now plain mr. or Ken. and 83. However I joined up at 18 and finally qualified to fly Blenheims . Put on troopship Highland Chieftain at Liverpool on my 21st birthday thank you and in N.Africa converted to Wellingtons . Joined 40 Sqdn and followed up 8th Army from Alamein ,Tripoli, Tunis,Sicily and Italy . Completed my forty ops. and returned UK for rest which was instrcting new pilots on glider towing and supply dropping on Albemales an aircraft reputedly made by plumbers .Self and five instructor crews taken on D-1 to prop silver paper over France to confuse enemy radar .Lost best pilot Sqdn Ldr Vic Khemis, Australtan . Then joined 299 Sqdn Towing Gliders and supply dropping in France and Norway . War in Europe finished Flew Czech civilians back to Prague and Brit POWs back her . Flew out to Far East but Jap wa ended and came home survived more by luck than judgement.Waiting Queen's telegram nicotine permitting ,More detail if anyone interested
