As a teenaged in the war I can clearly remember thinking how wonderful it would be to be able to go to sleep without the sirens going off and to be able to go into a shop and buy whatever you wanted without coupons was my ultimate dream.
And to be able to buy and eat whatever you wanted.
Now we do that all the time and think nothing about it at all. How quickly we forget.
